Why care for the scalp and hair together?
Adult women may notice more than one change in their scalp and hair at the same time. The scalp may be prone to dryness-related irritation or itchiness, or may feel hard or less supple. At the same time, the hair may become wavier, drier, more prone to spreading, or lose some of its gloss and body.
DEMI DO ASSET starts from the view that these concerns are easier to address when the scalp and the hair are considered in one care design rather than separately. The line looks at both the condition of the scalp and the texture of the hair, and is built in two parts:
- Salon care: the Spa Treatment service, using Asset Spa Milk 1 and Asset Spa Milk 2.

The DEMI DO ASSET "Spa Treatment" Concept
Spa Treatment (called "スパトリ" in the original Japanese articles) brings a head spa and a salon hair treatment together as one salon service. Instead of asking the client to choose between scalp care and hair care, both are carried out within the same visit to the shampoo bowl.
According to DEMI LABO, the Spa Treatment service takes around 15 minutes, combining scalp care, hair treatment and massage within a relatively short salon menu.
- Scalp and hair in one service: the scalp is softened and moisturised while the hair receives treatment care.
- Two layered formulas: Asset Spa Milk 1 is applied first, and Asset Spa Milk 2 is layered over it.
- A relaxing experience: the rich, enveloping texture of the spa milks and the scalp massage built into the service make it easy to present as a moment of relaxation.
- What it aims for: a supple, moisturised scalp and glossy, smoother-feeling hair.
For salons, it is a menu suited to clients who want care for both the scalp and the hair, including those who have previously had to choose one or the other.
How the Two Spa Milks Work Together
Hair that has been coloured, or that has changed with age, may develop damage holes inside the fibre. The two spa milks are formulated as a pair to work on those areas when one is layered over the other.
The two products are designed as a layered two-step system. According to DEMI, Minus Union in Spa Milk 1 and Plus Union in Spa Milk 2 penetrate damage holes, where they form a complex that adheres within damaged areas of the hair. This process is designed to support cosmetic hair repair and leave dry, damaged hair feeling smoother and looking glossier.
The Professional Spa Treatment Range
The professional Spa Treatment range consists of two products designed to be used together. Both are for salon professional use only.
Demi Do Asset Spa Milk 1 940mL
The first step of the Spa Treatment service. It is designed to soften the scalp, give it moisture and guide it towards a healthy, well-conditioned scalp environment.
- Size: 940mL.
- How it is used: Applied mainly to the scalp, then massaged and blended through the hair. Used as the first step of the Spa Treatment service, followed by Asset Spa Milk 2.
- Key moisturising ingredients: Lactobacillus / soy milk ferment filtrate and hot spring water, with botanical extracts including pomegranate flower extract and camellia seed extract.
Demi Do Asset Spa Milk 2 500g
The second step, layered over Asset Spa Milk 1. It gives moisture to dry hair that tends to spread, for a glossy, beautiful-looking finish, and completes the complex that supports cosmetic hair repair.
- Size: 500g.
- How it is used: Worked in mainly from the mid-lengths to the ends, over Asset Spa Milk 1.
- Key moisturising ingredients: Keratin and levulinic acid for damage care, with sake lees extract and molasses.

A professional Spa Treatment flow
In outline, the service runs as follows.
1. The salon professional assesses the client's scalp and hair condition, then shampoos.
2. Asset Spa Milk 1 is placed in the dedicated applicator and applied evenly, mainly to the scalp, while working in sections. The applicator dispenses the Spa Milk in fine streams, helping the salon professional distribute it evenly across the scalp for moisturising care. It is then massaged throughout the hair.
3. Asset Spa Milk 2 is layered over Spa Milk 1, concentrating mainly on the mid-lengths and ends, and worked into the hair with a kneading motion. The two-step system is designed to help repair hair damage and leave the hair looking beautiful.
4. Using kneading motions, a drainage massage is performed on the scalp, working from around the hairline and facial contours to the base of the neck.
5. Warm water is collected in the shampoo bowl and used for change rinsing, after which the hair and scalp are rinsed thoroughly.
This is an overview rather than a technical manual. The service should be carried out by a trained salon professional who has checked the client's scalp and hair beforehand.
The photos below show one example documented by DEMI LABO, taken before and after a single Spa Treatment service. Before the service, the participant reported dry hair that tended to spread, with short flyaway hairs visible along the surface. In the after photo, the hair appears less spread out, with a smoother, more settled outline.

Home Care with Scalp Essence Rich Spring
Asset Scalp Essence Rich Spring is the home care product in the DEMI DO ASSET line. It is a scalp essence for everyday use, not only after a salon visit, and is designed to approach age-related scalp concerns from several angles, for a healthy scalp and firm, glossy, beautiful-looking hair.
Recommended for clients who:
- Easily feel scalp irritation from dryness.
- Are concerned about scalp itchiness.
- Have a scalp that feels hard or less supple.
- Want age-appropriate scalp care.
Its botanical moisturising ingredients are grouped around three purposes.
Demi Do Asset Scalp Essence Rich Spring
- Sizes: 80mL / 200mL refill.
- How to use: Apply directly to the scalp, around 1-2 pumps per area, and massage gently with the fingers. Use twice daily as a guide and continue as ongoing care.
