What Is Flowdia More?
Flowdia launched in 2011 as DEMI's flagship salon hair care brand, built around repairing damaged areas of the hair selectively rather than treating the whole strand the same way. Flowdia More takes those hair repair technologies further and applies them to hair with a more complicated history — repeated colour or bleach, perms, heat styling and everyday friction, often combined with frizz, waviness or hair that has simply become difficult to manage.
In the salon, the range includes an acid straightening series and a system treatment series. For home care, it offers shampoos, treatments and a hair mist. DEMI specifically describes the home care products as working in coordination with the professional system treatment.
Flowdia More was introduced as the highest-level series within Flowdia, expanding the range with acid straightening, professional system treatment and high-repair home care options.
Hair Science Behind Flowdia More
Four decades of hair research
The DEMI Hair Science Laboratory was established in 1984 and has spent around forty years studying hair and scalp — the structure of the hair itself as well as the agents and ingredients used on it — working with research institutions and with hairdressers in the salon. Flowdia More draws on that body of research.
The "memory" of damage
DEMI describes hair as retaining a "memory" of accumulated damage. On long hair, the ends may have grown more than four years earlier and can carry the effects of damage accumulated over that time. Because the degree and type of damage can vary along the hair, Flowdia More was developed to address complex damage histories.
Accumulated damage can affect the hair in several connected ways, including dryness, loss of shine, colour fading, reduced perm definition, split ends, waviness and unwanted volume.
According to DEMI's hair science research, that damage can also disrupt the hair's internal bonds and change its shape. A hair fibre that starts with a round cross-section can become more distorted toward the ends, which contributes to frizz, waviness and hair that spreads rather than sits. Flowdia More was developed to work on these combined, damage-related conditions rather than on a single cause.

Six Care Solutions
The Flowdia More salon treatment combines six care approaches that work on the inside of the hair and on its surface. Rather than targeting one cause of damage, the system is designed to provide multi-dimensional repair care for hair affected by various types of damage — colour and bleach, perms, heat from dryers and irons, and the frizz, waviness, stiffness and loss of body that can come with them.

The Flowdia More Professional Range
Straight Series
The Straight Series is for salon professional use only. It is an acid straightening range, built around a balance between the repair care DEMI brings from its hair care work and softening agents intended to act where they are needed and no further, with hair strength kept in view throughout.
DEMI's reasoning for working in the acidic range is straightforward: hair is weakly acidic, the cuticle closes in acid and opens in alkali, and acidic processing is gentler on hair that is already damaged. The series is designed to give salon professionals more options when working with hair affected by damage, frizz or waviness.
Two active approaches
- Thioglycolic Acid Cysteamine: a component that brings together the characteristics of thioglycolic acid, which acts strongly and lastingly on waviness, and cysteamine, which leaves more body and resilience with less damage.
- Gradation action: Thioglycolic Acid Cysteamine is combined with thioglycerin, which acts further into the centre of the hair. The balance between them is formulated to work on the waviness while keeping the core of the hair protected. This applies to Cream 6.0, Cream 4.0 and Cream 4.0S.

Several agents are available so that the professional can select according to the condition of the hair in front of them. Agent selection and the service itself should be carried out by a trained salon professional who has assessed the client's hair beforehand.

System Treatment Series
The System Treatment Series is the salon treatment side of Flowdia More, intended for hair with a complicated damage history. It is where the Six Care Solutions sit, working on the inside of the hair and on its surface in the same service.
The system runs in two parts — Bond Effecter 1 and Bond Effecter 2 — and is designed to carry through into the home care range, so what the client uses between appointments continues the same approach.

Flowdia More Home Care
The home care range is formulated to work with the salon treatment and to support the condition of the hair day to day. It comes in two types, Silky and Melty, chosen by hair thickness and the finish the client is after, plus a mist that can be used alongside either. All home care items share a bright floral fragrance.
Repair Conc. Silky
For a supple, glossy finish with body and resilience through to the ends. Recommended for fine or soft hair and for clients whose hair feels dry.

The two types are separated by hair thickness and by the finish the client is after. The table below sets them side by side.

The official recommendations distinguish the two types by hair characteristics and desired finish. Silky is recommended for fine or soft hair and hair prone to dryness, offering a supple, glossy finish with body. Melty is recommended for thick or coarse hair and hair that is difficult to manage, offering a moisturised, smooth and glossy finish. A salon professional can assess the client's current hair condition and desired finish when recommending between them.
Connecting Salon Care and Home Care
Flowdia More includes professional salon services and coordinated home care. DEMI explains that the home care products are designed to work in conjunction with the professional system treatment. It suggests receiving a salon treatment approximately once every two to three months and continuing care at home to help maintain the result. Salon professionals should select services and home care products according to the client's hair condition and desired finish.
